This cemetery is located in Golconda Illinois and is behind a flood wall on the Ohio River bank.
I needed to get out of town for a bit so I headed to Golconda yesterday even though it was raining. It came a down pour while we were there and had to make a made dash for the car.
1838-1839 some 13,000 Cherokees crossed the Ohio River here by ferry on their "Trail of Tears" To Oklahoma.
